WRITING COMEDY

With the proliferation in cable, satellite and multi channel TV, the market for comedy writing has grown exponentially. Stand-up is now nationwide and there are more radio and TV sketch shows in development than ever before. Marc's ten-week evening course is open to anyone with an interest in comedy writing and covers the history and nuts and bolts of comedy, joke forms and construction, stand-up, sketch and longer form comedy. It runs three times a year at the City University London EC1 (Tuesdays 6.30pm- 8.30pm). There is also a sister course at the Kensington and Chelsea College, which runs twice a year for five weeks. SITCOM

This is one of the hardest forms of scripted comedy to develop, create and market. Feted and hated, sitcom comes in for flack like no other TV genre and yet its prime exponents - the Office, Phoenix Nights - are phenomenally successfully worldwide. Since 1994 Marc has taught a full course in sitcom construction covering concept, character, relationships and plotting. This course runs for ten weeks on Monday evenings 6.30pm - 8.30 pm three times a year at the City University, London ECI. It is open to all who have a passion for sitcom, along with good written and spoken English.For further information contact:

COMEDY WORKSHOPS

Marc runs one and four day intensive workshops through ComedyWorks productions. These are held six times throughout the year at the Comedy Pub in Oxendon St, Central London (next to London's Comedy Store). The one-day introductory course covers all you need to know about becoming a stand-up comedian. The intensive course is for those who have written comedy material with a view to performing. Students will receive personal guidance, focussing on honing their material, stagecraft and performance skills. Students are videotaped before and after. One-day workshops run on Saturdays 11am - 5pm. Four-day courses run Monday- Thursday. For further information and testimonials contact:

INDIVIDUAL TUITION

Marc offers tuition in Sitcom and stand up comedy. Critiquing of scripts is done on-line or by post. A flat fee of £60.00p (+VAT) is charged for sitcom script assaying, whilst fees vary for coaching in stand up. He will also assess sketches on a TBA basis.

TEFL

Marc is a qualified TEFL teacher, and offers classes on a one on one basis.
